The Bit Blob is a digital noise maker designed by Bleep Labs and Loud Objects that is controlled by means of patching specific contact point together. In many ways it is an artificial and much more stable form of circuit-bending. Sonic madness is usually the product whether connections are made with intention or not. The original design called for LEDs to represent the numerous square waves and frequencies the device produces. In this case, 8 ft neon tubes were used as replacements. A low voltage relay and high voltage ballast were used for each tube in order to trigger them. Special thanks to Phillip Stearns and the Public Theater for making this project possible.

Four Danelectro Fab Echo guitar pedals were modified and mixed independently of one another to create this performance for the Omega Sound Fix Festival in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The modification included enhancing the wet/dry mix ratio, increasing the amount of available repeats, and most importantly, adding a time adjustment potentiometer. The pedals’ electronics were then rehoused in plastic tupperware containers for easier access to controls. Astoundingly, this project cost only $60 to complete with the help of a local music store which ordered the pedals at a discount rate in exchange for a completed unit.
